Paramed Vote Results

Congratulations to all the union supporters who came out and voted “Yes” for respect and dignity for all Paramed employees out of the Scarborough office.

The struggle is not over yet, however, at the Labour Board on Thursday July 22, 2010 the count was:

 99 YES - 80 NO

It is clear that the majority voted in favour of the union, but the outcome of the vote is yet to be determined. Why? Because, in their attempt to hold absolute control over us employees, management “padded” the voters’ list by adding over 100 names of individuals who, we believe, are not Paramed employees.

What’s next?  We’re taking the matter to the Labour Board so that Paramed can explain who those individuals are. We can only know the result once we know the status of these additions to the list.

Be vigilant! Employers often get nervous when workers get themselves organized and that nervousness may cause them to violate the law, as we believe they did during the days leading the vote.

If you are being harassed by any managers, supervisors or co-ordinators; if you suspect their behaviour to be inappropriate call us immediately at 416-809-0699 or 1-877-673-7348.

We are stronger together!
